Bits of this and that

About me June 7, 2010

The world would be a better place if I could just have coffee and really good pastry at the beginning of every day – thus the blog name. I am a journalist who suffers sporadic writer’s block when my morning doesn’t get off to a good start … otherwise, I do really well telling tales to anyone who wants to listen.

I worked with Malaysia’s leading daily, The Star, for 17 years and met many fabulous people and wrote on a host of wonderful and varied topics – human interest and women’s issues, health, lifestyle, business, fashion, beauty …the list goes on. And the best part was that I got to travel around the globe for some really interesting assignments – I was sent to New York to find out more about the iconic Creme de La Mer, visited Shiseido’s laboratories in Tokyo, braved minus zero temperatures in Switzerland to meet Tag Heuer’s founder Jack and even made it to one Miss World final in the Seychelles. (Journalism is not the easiest of professions but the perks are worth the constant looming deadlines!)

This blog showcases some of my work and is also a platform for me to share my thoughts on a multitude of things that are important to me.

At the moment, I am enjoying being a free agent of sorts, a mum and a teacher …until I find the next project that will consume mind and soul. Enjoy 🙂
